Government of New Brunswick

Any municipality, community, or region can have a documented cultural policy or plan. The policy must provide a clear direction for the region in regards to developing the region’s cultural products, offerings and/or services; the policy must contain objectives and time lines in which to achieve these objectives; and the policy must be adopted or endorsed by the municipal/regional leaders. There is no defined length requirements for the cultural policy and it can be a part of another larger (municipal) plan, but it must be clear in its objectives and measures of success. It should clearly define the region’s goals and areas of focus relating to cultural development and promotion, including the arts sector and heritage assets.
