Overview
Board membership is proving to be an excellent training ground for women to gain the hands-on experience required for many decision-making positions. Women can transfer and apply many skills learned from board service to their work life. When successfully utilized, effective board skills enable women to develop their leadership potential - an asset to any workplace.
Eligibility
•Intro to Boards for Women is designed to engage women new to boards or have limited board experience.
•Board Effectiveness for Women is designed to engage women with past board experience and a desire to be more effective in their current roles.
Description
Two half-day workshops offering participants information on boards and how they function to broaden understanding including the importance of gender diversity on boards, tips and tools to help find the right board opportunity and how to enhance personal effectiveness as a board member.
Workshops are offered in English and in French, and are made available through a partnership between the Women’s Equality Branch, Women in Business (New Brunswick Association of CBDC’s) and LearnSphere Canada.
Fees
