Overview
The provincial government made a commitment to implement a pay equity program targeting home support workers working for provincially tendered Home Support Agencies.

Home support workers working for provincially tendered Home Support Agencies.
Description
In New Brunswick, home support workers are predominately women.
The program will:
• consult with home support workers and their employers, and provide regional information sessions.;
• complete job descriptions based on selected sample of workers;
• complete job evaluations; and
• provide the results and recommendations of the pay equity program to government.
The goal of the program is to determine if Home Support Workers working for tendered agencies are undervalued and determine if any pay inequity exist.
Pay inequity has a social and economic impact to both women and men.
