Overview

This department is responsible for the compliance of the freshwater aquaculture industry under the authority of the Water Quality Regulation - Clean Environment Act and developing policies on environmental monitoring, discharge limits etc.

Eligibility

All freshwater land-based aquaculture operations using tank or cage rearing methods having in excess of 2500 kg of fish, and all freshwater aquaculture facilities using typical pond rearing methods for the purpose of culturing in excess of 25,000 fish, regardless of total biomass.

Description

Review of applications and drafting of Approval for operation. Site Inspections and regular communication with clients to ensure operation is environmentally sustainable.
