In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day, a flag raising was held at the legislative assembly on the morning of June 21. Several staff members from the Department of Aboriginal Affairs were on hand to watch as Premier Blaine Higgs, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs Arlene Dunn, Minister of Health Bruce Fitch, and Oromocto-Lincoln-Fredericton MLA Mary Wilson helped raise the Wolastoqey, Mi’gmaq and Peskotomuhkati flags.
