The Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries has provided funding to Agriculture NB (Agriculture Alliance of NB, National Farmers Union in NB and Really Local Harvest) through the Sustainable Canadian Agriculture Partnership to establish the Farmer Mental Health and Farm Safety Initiative.
The initiative will focus on reducing the stigma of mental health in farming and improve awareness of mental health and farm safety for farmers. Training for farmers and industry service providers and developing agriculture specific mental health resources farmers will be a key component of the initiative.
The Farm Talk Care website will serve as the foundation of information and resources.
